Harnett Regional Theatre will present the second show of their 2014-2014 season, “It’s A Wonderful Life” starting November 14th. The show, based on Frank Capra’s film, is directed by Ruth Mills. Performance dates are November 14, 15, 20-22 at 7:30pm and November 23 at 2:30pm at the Stewart Theatre in Downtown Dunn. Admission for the show is $10 for youth and seniors and $15 for adults. HRT will host a “Family Night” on November 20 where all tickets will be $9. Regarded as a holiday classic around the world, Frank Capra’s 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life is based on Philip Van Doren Stern’s 1939 short story The Greatest Gift. George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and how different life in his community would be had he never been born. It’s a Wonderful Life was nominated for five Academy Awards and has been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 Best Films Ever Made.
